Painting with Katie

Katie created Penny Peony Designs in 2016 with her mom, Mary. Katie began drawing abstract floral designs with Sharpie markers and soon after, added paintings to her collection. The idea behind Penny Peony Designs came when Katie and her mom had wanted to combine their artwork and together, would venture into art and craft shows.

Shortly after Penny Peony Designs was created, Katie’s mom was diagnosed with cancer and lost her fight in January of 2017.

Today, Katie not only paints in remembrance of her mom, but now shares her creative ways with her own kids like her mom did with her. She enjoys painting pretty florals and bright colors so that it’ll easily cheer someone up.

What to Expect at Class:

Get ready to have a truly unique painting experience. It’s not about painting inside the lines or not knowing how to create something. Painting is often a very therapeutic way to express yourself. It’s time to get together with friends, have some laughs, enjoy the beauty of blending colors together and leave class with an incredible piece of art that YOU made!

While you will have the chance to paint on canvases, you will also be able to explore other materials such as garden pavers, wooden framed art, garden pots, wood cut outs, and more!

Katie’s husband, Seth, is a skilled carpenter who has helped shape the renovation of downtown Ripon, Wisconsin with remodeling buildings such as Patina Vie, the Historic Mapes Hotel, Mugs & More, and others! With his talents, he will be building all wood pieces available for classes so you truly get a unique piece to bring home!
